Which side?

Which side?

which side, witch side, pick an evil, vote for the lesser evil, don't vote, we're all going to hell anyway. Pretty much sums it up.

The current Republican party, led by the King of Bull Shit with his cabinet of boot lickers, sycophants, Bennys, co-conspirators and ass kissers, (so embarrassed for our country) have admittedly done some good for our country, because he will at least get something done, and is a man of action, mostly for greed, power, ego or occasionally for the good of the country. But the damage he has also done to this country by alienating our allies, systematically destroying the Constitution of the United States by dismantling the protections established by our founding fathers, corrupting the Judicial Branch, irreversibly dividing the Legislative Branch and unabashedly declaring that at least half of the American people are his enemies, that alone is the single most reason for his being unfit for the office of the Presidency and cause for impeachment. How-ever the impeachment of Trump isn't going to make anything better because he has already stacked the deck, the Executive branch has totally abandoned integrity, backbone and morals to gain Trumps favor and do his bidding, half of Congress are his co-conspirators, the Supreme Court has aided and abetted his transgressions, and the lower courts are hamstrung by legal mumbo-jumbo.

The bad part is that the Democrats aren't going to be much better, overcompensation, hand-outs and the "civil rights" of the undeserved will be a slap in the face for the middle class who bear the brunt of supporting environmental, immigration and liberal programs without real representation. Plus, their uncanny ability to not get anything done, (just an opinion). There really isn't a strong leader in the Democratic party right now or at least they haven't shown their face.

The hope that an Independent Leader will arise also hasn't produced much success so far, but since the Democrats and the Republicans have both stacked the decks with rules, regulations and the fact that in order to "defeat the Democrats" or "defeat the Republicans" you have to have the backing and the numbers to have a chance. In other words, if you introduce a third option, you might empower the greater of the evils to prevail by diluting the lessor of the two evils.

With the total instability of the current political climate, i.e.: the clown show that is the current congress, this may be the best opportunity to break the deadlock of the Republican and Democratic duality. With apologies to Bonnie Tylor, "We need a hero", we really do! They have to be strong and they have to be larger than life, and they CAN'T BE A REPUBLICAN OR A DEMOCRAT! Sorry, but they carry too much baggage! That's not to say a current Democrat or Republican can change their affiliation to Independent and throw down the shackles of party loyalty and grow a spine. Current voting is almost strictly along party lines with anyone considering stepping out of the party line called a traitor and extreme pressure is applied to "bring them back in line". If you remove the possibility of a majority by introducing a third party, then negotiation is required and party loyalty doesn't carry the weight that it does now.

Change isn't easy and it doesn't come overnight, but with the power of the internet and the ability for the masses to change their affiliation to Independent, change can happen. With a substantial representation of Independents, party pressure can only take them so far with the absurd possibility that integrity and backbone might have a resurgence, we can only hope.
